Hi All,

I am sitting here typing this to you, with the back door open and i can hear the birds talking to each other. They sit in the trees i have in the yard. I have one right next to one of the windows that this computer is next to. My dog also sits next to this window.

Why do i feel sad??

The other night, my neighbour sent her son in (very intimidatingly) and told me (not asked) to cut down all my trees. They were digging for a problem she was having and whilst digging they were finding roots that supposedly belonged to my trees. At the time i was incredibly intimidated and upset by it. I have over the past day had time to think about this. They haven't given me any proof of anything other than "words" that "whilst digging they found roots". Who are they to come in and tell me to cut my trees down? I called the council, who you would think would help but there response was "we don't want to get involved". They gave me a number, which, all day yesterday either rang out, or went to message bank saying they were out of the office and would hang up. Ironically, if you have a tree on your land and you want to cut it down, you need to go to council to get a permit! Go figure! 

I don't want to give up my trees. I love them!

So what do you think? Any advice anyone?

That is sad to think that the neighbour didn't even have the thought to come in themselves and sent the son.
I think you should go to the counsil. How dare they tell you to get rid of your tree? I would ask for some sort of written proof that it is your tree roots that are doing it.

 Sounds like some nice neighbours you have there. lol,,, How far from your property line is your trees, how long have you lived on that property, how long have the neighbours lived on their property and what kind of problem are they having, are there any other trees around close. answer those questions and i will try and help you.
 I would not cut any trees down that i didn't want to cut, if they are digging on their property they can cut the roots. This might kill your tree but you do not have to cut it down.
 If i were you i think i would go and try to talk too an adult there and not their son and see if you cant work something out with them if not then i would tell them to kiss my backside.
 If you can answer a few of the questions i ask or tell me alittle more about all this i will give you alittle legal advise best i can from up here, things may be alittle different down there but i bet its basically the same. let me know what you can and i will try and help, GOOD LUCK
