Never Feel Tired Again

Put Down The Energy Drink!

Convenient to take, energy drinks might be the first thing you reach for when energy flags. However, researchs from the Sleep Research Centre in the UK have found that people didn't get an energy buzz from the drinks - and 30 minutes after drinking them they suffered a crash that fatigued them even more!

The high levels of sugar in the drinks were said to be the main problem.

If you need a quick lift try drinking ginger or peppermint tea instead!

Do Some Exercise Regularly!

Yes, exercise is vital to keep your energy levels up, but if your tired you'll get a bigger energy boost taking it easy at the gym than going all out.

The University of Georgia researchers found people doing workouts that rated about four out of 10 for effort, cut their feelings of fatigue by 65%, which was more than those working out at a level of around 6.

So exercise is great for you, but do it in moderation and according to your energy levels. If your fatigued already dont push yourself too hard you'll only make yourself more tired. You will get far more benefits from working that little less hard on yourself, and you'll come out feeling great!

Love and healing,

Vicki

Eat White Rice & Vegies for Dinner

If your tired because you just can't get to sleep at night, you might want to try this calming meal.

University of Sydney researchers have found eating High GI carbs such as white rice about four hours before bedtime sees you drop off twice as fast as if you'd eaten a low GI meal. It has to do with a chemical called tryptophan that helps make us sleepy. Normally tryptophan competes with other amino acids to reach the brain. However, insulin produced when you eat high GI carb foods sends those amino acids into the muscles. Since it has nothing to compete with more tryptophan gets to the brain, so you fall asleep faster!

Think Fast and Stay Alert!

Scientists from Princeton University in the US have found that speeding up your thinking leaves you feeling energised, creative and happier!

Exactly why isn't known but it's possible that the speedy sensation mimics how you feel when you're feeling very excited and so tricks your body into getting more revved up!

Don't Forget to Yawn!

Researchers at the State University of New York have found yawning plays a vital energising role in life.

Whenever you let out a yawn, it actually sends a rush of cooling blood to your brain and this has the effect of waking you up.

If you think this idea is a bit of a yawn, then at least try breathing through your nose. The same team have found that this also creates cooler blood than mouth breathing, which may perk you up enough to get by!

Peel an Orange or Get a WHIFF of Brewing Coffee

"The scent of citrus oil that's released when you break the skin of an orange is uplifting". Its like concentrated sunshine and it just gets in to your energy field and makes you feel alive!

Or try walking past a coffee shop. Research at Seoul National University found the scent of coffee triggers changes in genes that fight tiredness!
